Truck Assembly

The truck assembly — also called the bogie — is the chassis that sits beneath the locomotive carbody and carries the traction motors, wheels, axles, and suspension system. Each truck supports two or three axles and must transmit enormous tractive and braking forces between the rail and the locomotive frame while absorbing track irregularities through its spring and damper suspension.

Supco Canada supplies aftermarket replacement parts for the full truck assembly on EMD® and GE® platform locomotives. From heavy structural items such as bolster frames and side frames through to precision components like axle gears, pinions, journal bearings, and gear cases, our parts are manufactured to OEM-interchangeable specifications for direct fitment.

Our truck assembly inventory includes both new-manufacture parts and remanufactured assemblies — including gear sets that are precision-machined, heat-treated, and inspected for tooth profile, hardness, and runout before shipment.
